As parents, we often feel that the days are long, we as a mom want sometime for ourself to relax. To relax we often switch on the music and take care our infants or toddlers at home. When we are preparing food or when we are managing our house but is important to understand that the amount and volume of background noise can impact the development of language skills in toddlers.

A new study has discovered that background noise in the home makes it more challenging for toddlers to learn new words.

Remember background noise of tv or music being played through day or most of the time in a day has negative impact on child’s language development. If your child is playing with toys and tv is on then it is not good for their development. It has negative impact and there are many studies to support this.

Sound is every where we cannot control the sound pollution but yes we can minimize by being aware.

Do the following things to be mindful to control the noise at your place.
1. Be very careful when your child is playing or eating, TV/ music should not be on through out. Once in a while it is not a problem. Problem is every day when your child is busy playing with toy, you are enjoying me-time with some good series on Netflix. You can enjoy your series but with ear-pods.
2. Understand that background tv is different from actively watching a show, so no to background music or tv when your child is not actively watching.
