
Here is the scientific study which says that water makes schoolchildren smarter?
As per studies it is found that dehydration seemed to be a common occurrence, and not surprisingly, they found that it had a negative effect on mental function.
Water, yes water!!!
Your read it right, water can make your child smarter.
We all know that 75% of body is made up of water and many time when we are not hydrated properly, we do not feel fresh, we feel low on energy.
You will also be amazed to know that when we have good hydration level, it help us to make better decisions at important levels.
Water intake is important for many body functions, but it’s especially important for optimal Brain Health. As water makes up to about 65-75% of your child’s total weight. That’s a lot of water!
Even mild dehydration – as low as a 1% loss of body fluid – can result in mental health, including restlessness, lack of focus, negative effects on short-term memory, headaches and fatigue. In more severe states, it can lead to dizziness, agitation, restlessness, confusion and lethargy. To top it off, levels of stress hormones coursing through the body increase in states of dehydration, which has been associated with decreased mental function.
There were simple studies. Researchers took a group of school children, randomly allocated them to drink a cup of water or not, and then gave them all a test to see who did better. And the winner was… the cup-of-water group

5 Tips to make your kids drink lots of water
1. Every Little Bit count: Fruits, vegetables and food, everything has water in it. It is important that we give our kids right quantity and healthy food.
2. Good Habit: Always inculcate the habit of drinking at least one glass of water when they are going out to play or they are going market.
3. Practice Right: Make a practice that whenever your child is going out, they should carry their water bottle with them.
4. Divide day into 3 parts: Before Noon, Before evening and before they go to bed. And track the water intake. How you will do so, dedicate one bottle for them and tell them that they have to finish one bottle before lunch, refill this bottle and ask them to finish this by evening and by refilling it again you say, they should finish this before sleeping. Please note: The size of the bottle should be as per the age of your child.
5. Awards are best practice: Start giving awards to your child when they follow your instructions even when it comes to drink water. Like you can make your child water coach of the family. This way they will do what is needed and also they will monitor the water level of entire family.
Before I end this topic, to inculcate any new habit try to show that it is an easy task which your child can easily follow. You may know it is difficult for your child but when you will show it is simple and achievable your child will try and work on it. And after few days it will really be an easy task for them. Our kids always see the world from our eyes. So, let us show them it is easy and simple world and a good place to live in.
